The MIT IAP Generative AI Hackathon is a hackathon to build out-of-this world applications powered by generative AI, competing for $25,000 in prizes.

The Vana protocol is a decentralized system for everyone to own, use, and share their digital likeness, and to unlock its full potential through immersive experiences. We allow users to own their data and what makes them unique, including the AI models that understand how they look, speak and think. You can try out https://portrait.vana.com/ to get a sense of the early experience.

We've just released our API, which allows you to interface with our generative models, and create new models of your own. Sign up for the hackathon and a Vana account with the same email address, and we'll automatically give you developer access in mid-January. Until then, feel free to get familiar with the documentation at api.vana.com

When and where?
‍

The hackathon takes place the last full week of IAP, from Monday, January 23, 2023 to Friday, January 27, 2023. We'll hold sessions and office hours at the Martin Trust Center. Sign up for the detailed schedule.

Who can participate?
‍

All members of the MIT community may participate: students, faculty, staff, and alumni. Alumni who wish to participate will need to review MIT's campus access and visitor policies to understand current campus access requirements and restrictions.
‍
6-3, 6-4, 6-14, and 14-2 students are especially encouraged to participate. Experience programming in javascript or python will be required, but we can help you get started as needed.
